The Piano Recital

Today marks the end of Memorial Day weekend. Summer is approaching because the upper 80 temps are telling me so! Our family has changed so much and that appeared to be evident on Friday night when Anna Catherine had her first piano recital. We sat in the church sanctuary and we were all so nervous - our stomach's where in knots! Every single one of us had sweaty palms when we realized that she was number 40 in the line up to perform. When her time came, she marched right up there with confidence and played her song without ONE SINGLE MISTAKE! I was so proud of her and my father became teary-eyed to see his youngest granddaughter do something that he has always encouraged her to do. The two of them hugged at the end of her performance and it was nothing short of priceless..... It is moments like these that make it all worth while.

First Blog

Today is the first day that I have decided to blog. This seems so foreign to me and it will take some commitment on my part in order to keep it current. I have the tendency to be "wordy" so I will try to cut down on the length. Introducing the most important things in my life are my daughters, Chelsea 15 and Anna Catherine 9. I gave them a choice of choosing any destination for a small summer vacation. Of all places, they chose Gatlinburg, TN!! I was shocked, but so be it. I confirmed the reservations for a small cabin in the mountains and I will admit, I am getting a little excited myself. This is the first year that I feel like we can all do things as a family because they are growing up! Kind of makes me sad. Only two more weeks of school and SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER!! Woo Hoo!
